Eurovision pulls Harvey out of nightmare
Published Thursday, Mar 1 2007, 09:31 GMT | By Nick Levine
Former East 17 singer Brian Harvey has credited his Eurovision Song Contest contender 'I Can' with "pulling him out of a nightmare".
The 'Stay Another Day' hitmaker accidentally ran himself over in 2005, sustaining injuries including a broken leg, broken pelvis and crushed ribs.
The accident left him in a coma, and doctors told his friends and family that he had a one in 50 chance of survival.
However, the 32-year old has battled to make a full recovery and is excited about competing on the BBC's Making Your Mind Up for the chance to represent the UK at this year's Eurovision Song Contest.
He said: "To win Making Your Mind Up would be a fairytale. This song has pulled me out of a nightmare."
