Doherty feeds joint to penguin?

Pete Doherty fed a cannabis joint to a penguin while visiting a wildlife park, a report has claimed.

The star apparently waved the spliff in front of Humboldt penguins while viewing the birds with girlfriend Kate Moss. He then threw the butt by them, prompting one to swallow it, according to a report in The Sun.

Doherty was spotted by a fellow visitor to Cotswold Wildlife Park in Oxfordshire. “Everyone knew he was smoking grass," commented the on-looker. "He was joking about getting the penguins stoned."

Andrew Routh, chief veterinary officer at London Zoo, told the paper such behaviour was not recommended. “Feeding a penguin cannabis could be fatal," he warned. "It contains toxins that attack the nervous system and liver.”
