Punters guess at Church baby name

A punter has bet £10 on Charlotte Church and Gavin Henson calling their baby Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch.

It is the longest place name in the pair's native Wales and the world, and the choice would follow the celebrity pattern laid down by the Beckhams with Brooklyn and the Hiltons with Paris.

Graham Sharpe, of William Hill bookmaker, commented: "The customer, who is from Cardiff, will collect £1000 if she is right.

"She wrote to us to ask for the bet, but I'm confident she has no inside information. They will probably have to get a specially expanded birth certificate if they do decide on this name."

However, Sharpe also offered some other options, highlighting odds of 100/1 that the child would later play rugby for Wales, and 100/1 on the youngster being born during a Wales Rugby World Cup match.

Also on offer are odds of 66/1 for the offspring to notch up a number one in future, 33/1 to become a clergyman and 20/1 on its first word to be a swear-word.

For the less adventurous, there are 8/1 odds on the child being born on the day of a Welsh world cup game and 6/1 that the name will be David.
