Naomi Campbell to work as a cleaner

Naomi Campbell is to work as a cleaner as part of her community service sentence, after being convicted of assault.

The supermodel will reportedly have to mop floors and sweep corridors in a public building in New York.

She will consequently avoid the open-air humilation that Boy George was subjected to when he was ordered to sweep the streets of Manhattan in the presence of the world media.

Since being convicted Campbell has apologised for assaulting her maid, Ana Scolavino, and according to the Daily Mail, said that she was "very remorseful" about what she had done.

She admitted: "I have a deep sense of shame", before explaining that "tired and lack of sleep" led to the assault last year.

A spokesman for Naomi Campbell affirmed that his client was prepared to complete her sentence, saying: "Naomi is ready to report and complete her community service, no matter where or what she will be assigned."
