Les Dawson's widow has launched a campaign to build a statue in memory of the late comedian in Blackpool.
Tracy Dawson announced the beginning of fundraising efforts and said she wanted to site the reminder in what was Les's favourite town.
She lived with him, and their daughter Charlotte, until his death aged 62 in 1993. Tracy said she was overwhelmed by support from fans for her plan.
She said fundraising activies would include a celebrity golf event, benefit concerts and auctions. Daughter Charlotte commented: "It'll be wonderful to put my arm around daddy and give him a cuddle at last."
