will.i.am to release Barack Obama victory song

will.i.am has revealed that he will release a victory song to celebrate President Barack Obama's re-election.

The Black Eyed Peas star also uploaded to his Twitter page a picture of Obama taken from backstage at the President's victory rally.

"Thank you america," he wrote, "we are still on our path..."

will.i.am added: "All that travel, hard work and campaigning was worth it... and now its time to work even harder."

The Voice UK mentor - who had earlier posted a picture of himself after voting - continued: "Thanks mama for raising me the way you did...from the ghetto to backstage 2012 @BarackObama re-elect.

"I got to speak with the president backstage before this historic speech...my mom got me [here]...she is the greatest single mom ever..."

He went on: "I'm proud of where I come from...but I'm even more proud of where we are going...

"In 2008 I wrote 'its a new day' 1week before @BarackObama won...and last week I wrote another victory song...it will be out in 1week."

A number of celebrities have celebrated Obama's re-election, with Beyoncé posting a cheeky "Take that Mitches" picture on her Tumblr page. However, Donald Trump has criticised the result and called for a "revolution".
