The Clueless actress recently came under fire from Barack Obama supporters when she sent a Twitter message supporting Romney.
In response to negative reactions to her endorsement of Romney in October, Dash wrote: "My humble opinion… EVERYONE is entitled to one."
TMZ has published a 1,344-word essay written by Dash, in which she expresses her disbelief and sadness at the election's outcome.
Dash wrote in the letter: "I've been fortunate enough in my career to have earned a considerable income. I am a fiscal conservative. I like the simplicity of the plan to lower taxes.
"I feel I've paid out a substantial amount over the 20-plus years I've been working. I'm also a woman. And as a single mother who happens to be half-Bajan and half-Mexican, I have concerns, which cover many topics and issues."
Despite her complaints about Romney's loss, Dash did accept Obama's win.
She added: "I am hopeful that President Obama will lead us to becoming the great United States of America that thrives."
Dash is not the first star to endorse Republican candidate Romney.
Former Nickelodeon star Melissa Joan Hart also came under scrutiny via Twitter after endorsing Romney online prior to Tuesday's election.
