Madeley in outburst over mugging

Richard Madeley launched into an on-screen outburst about the state of society after his daughter was mugged.

He interrupted an instalment of Richard & Judy to let off steam at the incident which saw 19-year-old Chloe's mobile phone grabbed from her hand.

The presenter shook his fist at the camera and declared: "To the person who stole my daughter's mobile phone, I would like to say this," before commencing a tirade explaining how the mobile was grabbed mid-conversation as she walked down the street in London.

"She was stupid to walk out on the street with her phone on display," Madeley added. "The one thing everyone has told her is not to walk on the street in central London displaying your phone." He complained: "To be honest this is NFL: normal for London."

A show producer told The Independent Madeley "wanted to make his feelings known".
