Also in the capital, James McAvoy and Gemma Arterton were two of the celebrities who attended the Place For Peace dinner, which was held in support of the Peace Earth Foundation. Elton John's annual Winter Ball also took place, with monies raised from ticket sales going to the Elton John AIDS Foundation.
In Germany, Carly Rae Jepsen was present at the photocall for MTV's European Music Awards. The award ceremony takes place this evening and some of Europe's biggest music acts will be performing.
Elsewhere, Chloe Sims launched her new book The Only Way is Up - My Story in Liverpool, Jude Law spoke at the press conference for his new movie Rise of the Guardians' and Cameron Diaz helped raise money for UN Women and New York Cares Hurricane Sandy Relief Effort.
