Michael Jackson addresses US troops

Pop legend Michael Jackson addressed American troops in Japan yesterday, when he visited a US airbase.

The singer, who has been touring the country, reportedly appeared in front of 3,000 soldiers and gave a short speech.

He told those at Camp Zama in southern Tokyo: "Those of you in here today are some of the most special people in the world.

"It is because of you in here today, and others who have so valiantly given their lives to protect us, that we enjoy our freedom."
