Tulisa Contostavlos's footballer boyfriend Danny Simpson has reportedly vowed that they will make their relationship work following his ex-girlfriend's claim that she is pregnant with his child.

The Newcastle United defender said at the weekend that he has "moved on" from Stephanie Ward, who is mother to the former couple's 18-month-old daughter Skye and expecting a second baby.

Ward also publicly branded Contostavlos a "homewrecker" for striking up a romance with Simpson, prompting the X Factor judge to complain on Twitter about "a lot of bulls**t in the press".

Speaking at Contostavlos's G-A-Y performance on Saturday (November 17), Simpson allegedly maintained that he ended his relationship with Ward weeks ago and reaffirmed his commitment to the N-Dubz star.

"I think I could be with Tulisa long-term," the Daily Mirror quotes him as saying. "I am going to keep seeing her. I think we can make it work."

Insiders have reported seeing the couple kissing and cuddling after the show, with one commenting: "No matter what anyone says, they have clearly fallen for each other in a big way in a very short period of time.

"The fact he travelled down to see her straight after the Newcastle United game says everything."

Contostavlos's relationship with Simpson is also said to have left her ex Jody Latham "gutted and devastated".
