Susan Boyle: "I'm not going to let a man define me"

By
Susan Boyle has reportedly said that she will never be defined by a prospective partner.

Speaking at a signing session for her new album Standing Ovation, which is out this week, the former Britain's Got Talent finalist also said that she has no interest in internet dating.

"Of course I'd like that special someone in my life, but I'm not going to let a man define me," The Mirror quotes Boyle as saying. "I've done pretty well over the past 51 years without [a partner], but it would be nice."

Boyle was also dismissive of internet dating, saying that she hopes her "soulmate" is out there.

"I will find him but it won't be on a computer," she said, also quipping that if she did try online dating, "knowing my luck I'd go out on a date and you'd find my limbs scattered around various Blackburn dustbins! I believe in letting things happen naturally and not 'shopping' for a man on the internet."

It was recently reported that Boyle has negotiated a deal for her life story to be turned into a movie.

An autobiographical musical, I Dreamed A Dream, which stars Elaine C Smith as the singer, debuted earlier this year.
