According to The AP, the foundation has made plans to help build a new residence hall, baseball field and classrooms for the Children of Christ orphanage in La Romana, Dominican Republic.

Sonia Hane, director of the Children of Christ Foundation, said that Anthony had visited the orphanage in the past and resolved to help the children by raising $200,000 for upgrades.

The orphanage, founded in 1996, houses children abused or abandoned by their parents.

A special groundbreaking ceremony was held on Friday (November 23), which Anthony attended with girlfriend Shannon de Lima.

Since splitting from ex-wife Jennifer Lopez last year, Anthony has become more involved in charity work, as well as brief stints on television, including as guest judge on The X Factor USA.
