Kardashian originally filed for divorce in October 2011, but Humphries later requested an annulment and claimed that the wedding was a fraud, resulting in a protracted legal battle.
The former couple's lawyers have now returned to a Los Angeles court for another hearing, E! News reports.
Kardashian's attorney Laura Wasser asked Judge Stephen Moloney to put an end to the marriage, saying: "Miss Kardashian is now handcuffed to Mr Humphries."
However, Humphries's lawyer Marshall Waller suggested that Kardashian should agree to the annulment and revealed that he plans to depose the reality star next month.
He also urged Judge Moloney not to set a discovery cutoff date for the case, explaining that he has had difficulty obtaining certain documents and saying: "This is a fraud case. This is a matter that needs to be flushed out."
Wasser accused Waller of going on a "fishing expedition", saying: "Miss Kardashian has a right to have her 72-day marriage - [for] which she has a prenup - resolved. She has that right."
Wasser also asked Moloney to set a cutoff deadline so that Kardashian "can stop worrying about getting deposed" and questioned Waller on whether he plans to dispute the prenup.
A new hearing has been set for February 15, when both Kardashian and Humphries will be asked to say whether they are ready for trial.
Hours after the hearing, Humphries was ejected from his basketball game after a brawl, E! News reports.
Kardashian, who is currently dating Kanye West, has previously denied that she is rushing her divorce so that she can wed the rapper.
