Spears 'paid extra $1m for quick buy'

Britney Spears paid an extra million dollars for her new home on the condition she move in on the day she saw it, it has been reported.

The singer bought a new mansion - worth $9.2 million (£4.7 million) - in Malibu in November following her split from Kevin Federline.

And, according to The News of the World, she offered a million dollars on top of that so she could move in straight away - and keep all the current furniture.

The previous owners apparently agreed and moved into a hotel immediately. A source recalled: "She was hungry to bring some normality to her family life.

"As soon as she clapped eyes on the place she outbid all the rival buyers. Then she persuaded the owners to shift sharpish."
