The 'Spinning Around' singer met the European cruiserweight champion at a gym several years ago, but they have become particularly friendly since Minogue became single last month.
Minogue announced that she had split from Olivier Martinez - her partner of four years - on February 3.
A source told The People: "Kylie was heartbroken over Olivier and has needed her friends more than ever. David has been there for her 100 per cent and he now views her as one of his closest female friends."
Haye told the newspaper: "Yes, we are close friends."
