Katie Price's privacy case against a former friend can proceed, the High Court has ruled.

The model and businesswoman filed a lawsuit against Jamelah Asmar in September over breach of privacy.

At the time, she also took legal action against ex-husband Peter Andre, former manager Claire Powell and her company CAN Associates, in connection with allegations they leaked information about her to the press.

Price claims that Asmar gave Powell permission to sell information contained in a court statement to the News of the World in October 2009, shortly after her divorce from Andre.

The information was regarding Price's apparent affair with a man, named as 'Mr A', as well as the identity of 'Mr B', who allegedly raped her "some years ago".

Asmar had asked Mr Justice Tugendhat to strike out the claim on the basis that Price has published so much material about her own private life, but the judge dismissed her application to halt the proceedings.

Price insists that Asmar was a trusted confidante who acted in gross breach of trust. She is seeking substantial damages.
