Lucky Guys producers also confirmed on Wednesday (December 12) that Scolari will appear in the play, as well as Christopher McDonald and Michael Gaston.

The production's previews begin on March 1 at the Broadhurst Theatre in New York City.

Hanks and Scolari's sitcom Bosom Buddies aired from 1980 to 1982 on ABC. The duo played friends who disguised themselves as women to secure cheaper rent.

Bosom Buddies has become a cult classic in the ensuing years and reruns frequently air on US television.
