Bond author's gun sold at auction

The gun, a specially engraved Colt Python .357 Magnum and presented to the writer by the Colt Company, fetched £12,000 at the event in London.
The lot was accompanied by a letter from the weapons company and a copy of the Bond novel Goldfinger - in which the villian uses a Colt.
According to the BBC, the gun is engraved with the words: "Presented To Ian Fleming By The Colt's Patent Fire Arms Mfg. Co".
