Richard Hammond signs book deal

Richard Hammond has signed a six-figure deal to write a book about the car smash that nearly killed him.

The Top Gear presenter's autobiography, to be published by Orion, will cover the horrific accident and his subsequent recovery from a brain injury.

"The process of recovery from brain damage - and I was lucky enough to recover - is fascinating," Hammond explained. "It is a real insight not just for myself but the way the mind works, and that's what I want to write about."
