Mother is happy about Jolie adoption

The mother of Angelina Jolie's newly taken in child has given her blessing to the adoption.

Pham Thu Dung is said to be a heroin addict who left her baby, named Pham Quang Sang, in a hospital in Vietnam two days after his birth.

The child's grandparents signed his adoption papers and some reports had suggested his mother would try to bring him back to the country.

However, Thu Dung told the News of the World in a cafe in Ho Chi Minh City she was confident her son, now renamed Pax Thien Jolie, would be better off in the US.

She said she did not recognise him in newspapers pictures and that, although she would love to be united with him, she feared it was not possible.
