Keith Richards: 'I don't trust doctors'

Published Thursday, Apr 5 2007, 11:48 BST | By Nick Levine
Keith Richards has revealed that he cannot trust doctors after repeatedly being told he was on the verge of death.

The Rolling Stones guitarist has survived heroin addiction, having his skull cut open and falling out of a coconut tree to make it to the age of 63.

He said: "I mean some doctor told me I had six months to live and I went to his funeral. I don't trust doctors. It's not to say there ain't some good ones, but on a general level, no, I wouldn't trust 'em at all.

"I was Number 1 on the 'Who's Likely To Die?' list for 10 years. I mean, I was really disappointed when I fell off the list."
