Shaun White has been cleared of public intoxication and vandalism charges, which stemmed from an incident at a Nashville hotel.

The snowboarder was arrested in September when he pulled a fire alarm at the hotel and then attempted to flee. White was in Nashville to attend musician Patrick Carney's wedding.

He later issued a public apology for his actions, writing: "I was celebrating a happy occasion with a ton of family and friends and got carried away. I'm truly sorry for my poor behaviour."

The Nashville District Attorney General's office has now confirmed to People that White has been cleared of public intoxication because he completed community service and an alcohol assessment programme. The athlete had previously settled the vandalism charge in November 2012.

A representative for White also responded to the dismissal of the suit by insisting that the star is moving forward with his life.

"All matters in regard to the recent incident in Nashville have been resolved... Additionally, prior media reports stating that Shaun was required to participate in any alcohol treatment or rehab programme were false," White's spokesperson said.

White's next professional job is a guest appearance in the January 15 episode of Go On, which airs on NBC.
