Glitter seeks another sentence reduction
Published Tuesday, Apr 10 2007, 12:34 BST | By Matthew Houghton
Pop singer Gary Glitter is to seek another reduction on his prison sentence for child molestation.
Glitter was found guilty of committing obscene acts with two girls aged 11 and 12 in Vietnam, and has already had a three-month sentence reduction.
He is due to come out of prison in August next year, but his lawyer has revealed that an appeal will be made to reduce his sentence further.
He told Gigwise, "My client will certainly submit a letter asking for another six month reduction of his prison term once the Vietnamese authorites announce the plan for amnesty on Liberation Day."
