At least 15 officers attended the home of Bruce and Kris Jenner following a hoax phone call.

TMZ reports that a 911 call was received from someone claiming to be hiding inside a closet at the home of the Kardashians' mother and step-father.

It alleged that someone had been shot and armed assailants were still inside the property.

According to the website, more than 15 officers with machine guns and other weapons responded to the scene and locked down the street. However, they found Bruce, Kris and children Kylie and Kendall were not in danger and no-one else was hurt.

It appears the family are the latest victims of 'swatting', where fake calls are made to trigger a police response.

Kim Kardashian took to Twitter to blast the incident, telling her followers: "Just got a call from my mum telling me about this prank call that someone was shot in their home & 15 swat team & 3 helicopters showed up!

"These prank calls are NOT funny! People can get arrested for this! I hope they find out who is behind this. Its dangerous & not a joke! (sic)."

Earlier today (January 19), Tom Cruise was reported to have been another swatting victim after a fictitious robbery at the star's home was reported to police.
