The couple. who announced their engagement in September 2012, tied the knot on Saturday (January 19) in Providence, Rhode Island before 240 people including Olympic athletes Brian Boitano, Dick Button and Dorothy Hamill, reports People.

Pell works as a director for strategic planning on the National Security staff at the White House, and is the grandson of late Rhode Island senator Claiborne Pell.
Speaking about Pell last September, Kwan is quoted as saying: "I never was one who believed in love at first sight, but I have to admit it happened for us.

"I felt there was a magnetic connection between us. I thought he was the one from the beginning."
Kwan is a two-time Olympic medalist, a five-time world champion and a nine-time US champion.

She has made guest appearances in several TV shows, including The Simpsons and Family Guy.
Since retiring from figure skating, Kwan has represented the United States as a public diplomacy ambassador under the administrations of George W Bush and Barack Obama.
