The phrase 'RIP Shaggy' was widely posted on Twitter and other social media on Wednesday (January 23), sparking rumours that the 'It Wasn't Me' rapper had died.

A spokesperson for Shaggy swiftly responded to the rumours by assuring TMZ that the musician was very much alive.
"[Shaggy] is like a cat with 9 lives… but I can happily report that he's alive and kicking and in the same building as me right now as we speak," Shaggy's representative said.
