Laurence Fishburne denied restraining order against LA man

Laurence Fishburne has been denied a permanent restraining order against a man who allegedly caused a disturbance at the Fishburne family home.

The Matrix actor was granted a temporary restraining order against Anthony Francis this month after Francis claimed to be the true owner of the Fishburne residence.

Francis – who has a criminal record - allegedly demanded that Fishburne's wife Gina Torres "evacuate ASAP" so he could take possession of the home, leading Torres to call police.

Fishburne was denied a three-year extension of his protection order against Francis at a court hearing on Wednesday (January 23), according to E! News.

A LA Superior Court Judge ruled that there was a lack of evidence to prove that Francis poses a threat to Fishburne's safety.

Fishburne's attorney has vowed to appeal the ruling.
