Jon Bon Jovi daughter 'took heroin in a pill form'

By
Jon Bon Jovi has said that his daughter took heroin in a "pill form" rather than injection when she overdosed last November.

Stephanie Rose Bongiovi, 19, was arrested at Hamilton College in New York after marijuana and a "small amount" of heroin were found in her room following the incident.

The charges were later dropped because of laws that prohibit the prosecution of those with less than 230g of the drug who have suffered overdoses.

"She's good. She's getting through it," Bon Jovi told Metro.

"She's healthy. The greatest gift that I have is that I have her. We'll get through this. It was a shock for everybody and hopefully we learn from these life lessons."

Of the drug his daughter took, he pointed to his upper arm and added: "It wasn't what you see in the movies. It's a pill form that these kids have access to. It was the first and hopefully the last time."

Bon Jovi said that the warm wishes for his family had been "really reassuring" and later admitted that he was "shocked as much as the next parent" by the incident.

Stephanie is the oldest daughter of the Bon Jovi frontman and his wife Dorothea Hurley.
