Doherty 'keen' to kick drugs completely
Published Wednesday, Apr 18 2007, 21:08 BST | By Dave West

The star, who has been convicted of several drugs offences, said he wanted to kick the habit because of friends.
"The people I'm closest to have had enough," he told Thames Magistrates' Court on Wednesday. "They've said it's drugs or them. A lot has changed in the past week."
However, he conceded that he had not yet solved the problem, commenting: "I'm quite keen to show a negative test as soon as possible really."
District Judge Jane McIvor praised the star for his progress under the treatment order. "There's no obligation for you to turn up to the reviews," she explained. "The fact you've turned up shows cooperation - more than cooperation - and there is no risk of you breaching this order."
The star performed with former Libertine partner Carl Barat last week for the first time since the band's split. He also referred to girlfriend Kate Moss as his fiancée at the same concert at the Hackney Empire.
