Judd and Franchitti, who have been married for 11 years, confirmed that they had mutually decided to call time on their relationship, but remain friends.

"We have mutually decided to end our marriage. We'll always be family and continue to cherish our relationship based on the special love, integrity, and respect we have always enjoyed," a spokesperson for Judd and Franchitti said in a statement to People magazine.
The former couple got engaged in 1999, marrying at Skibo Castle in Scotland on December 12, 2001. They do not have any children together.

Judd is best known internationally for her appearances in films such as De-Lovely - for which she received a Golden Globe nomination - High Crimes and Double Jeopardy.
She has devoted an increasing amount of time to her humanitarian and political interests in recent years, and represented Tennessee as a delegate at last year's Democratic National Convention.
Franchitti is a three-time winner of the Indianapolis 500 and four-time Indycar champion, and has raced for both Andretti Green Racing (now Andretti Autosport) and Chip Ganassi Racing.
