Walters's medical woes only worsened when she came down with chicken pox while in the hospital, leading her to be quarantined by her doctors.
ABC confirmed on Tuesday (January 29) that she had been released from the hospital and was beginning her recovery at an undisclosed location.
"[Barbara is] getting strong," an ABC spokesperson commented last night.
It is not yet known when Walters will be well enough to return as a panelist on her ABC daytime series The View.

Walters released a press statement in the immediate aftermath of her hospitalisation, in which she thanked the many well-wishers who had sent her letters.
"I want to thank all the people who have called and written and been concerned about me. I'm most appreciative," she said last week.
The journalist celebrated her 83rd birthday in September 2012.
