Westlife star becomes dad to twins

Westlife star Nicky Byrne has become a father to twin sons.

The singer, who has been married to childhood sweetheart Georgina since August 2003, announced that the boys, Rocco and Jay, were born at 9.55am yesterday.

A statement released on behalf of the couple read: "Nicky and Georgina Byrne welcomed with great joy the safe arrival of their twin sons Rocco and Jay. The couple would like to thank Professor McAuliffe and all the wonderful staff at NMH Holles Street."

Nicky said: "My Westlife hat is coming off and my daddy hat is going on."
