The actress went to the New Orleans event in order to show her support for football player Michael Oher.

According to Hit Fix, Bullock has stayed in touch with Oher and his family, The Tuohys, whose story was was the subject of the actress's 2009 movie The Blind Side.
Bullock portrayed Oher's adoptive mother Leigh Anne Tuohy in the Academy Award-winning film, winning an Oscar for the role at the 2010 Academy Awards.

The actress has been keeping a watchful eye on Oher, who plays for the Baltimore Ravens, since the movie's conception.
"She follows Michael's career every step of the way. It's funny," Leigh Anne Tuohy said recently.
"I'll get texts [from her] during the game: 'Why did they do this? They shouldn't have done that'."
Oher's side ultimately won Super Bowl XLVII, as the Ravens beat the San Francisco 49ers 34 - 31 following a lengthy delay to the game due to a sudden power cut in the third quarter.
