As his murder trial begins in Los Angeles, prosecutors have alleged that Phil Spector had a long history of violence against women.
The 67-year-old is accused of the murder of actress Lana Clarkson, found shot at his home in 2003. However, Spector maintains that Clarkson shot herself in the mouth and has entered a 'not guilty' plea.
Deputy District Attorney Alan Jackson noted of Spector: "When he's confronted with the right circumstances, when he's confronted with the right situations, [he] turns sinister and deadly. The evidence is going to paint a picture of a man, who on 3 February 2003, put a loaded pistol in Lana Clarkson's mouth - inside her mouth - and shot her to death. [She] was simply the last in a long line of women who fell victim to Philip Spector over the years."
