Bradley Cooper arrives to rapturous response at BAFTAs

Bradley Cooper has been given a rapturous reception on the BAFTA Film Awards red carpet.

The Silver Linings Playbook star was greeted by overwhelming cheers from the assembled crowd at London's Royal Opera House, with the 38-year-old seemingly proving more popular with the public than fellow BAFTA nominee Hugh Jackman and George Clooney.

Prior to entering the venue, the actor took time to meet fans and sign autographs, before the event began at 7pm.

Cooper is nominated at tonight's ceremony in the 'Leading Actor' category for Silver Linings Playbook, where he will be competing alongside Ben Affleck, Joaquin Phoenix, Daniel Day Lewis and Jackman for the honour.

His co-star Jennifer Lawrence is also up for a gong in the 'Leading Actress' category.

The ceremony will be broadcast at 9pm on BBC One tonight (February 10).
