Richard Gere faces arrest in India

An arrest warrant for Richard Gere has been issued in India after he kissed Shilpa Shetty at an Aids awareness event.

Gere kissed and hugged the Celebrity Big Brother winner at the event in Delhi earlier this month.

Now a court in Jaipur has categorised it as "an obscene act" and authorised the arrest of the Hollywood star.

However, Gere has dismissed the issue. He said on The Daily Show: "There is a very small right-wing, very conservative political party in India and they are the moral police in India...they do this kind of thing quite often."
