Beyoncé on "crazy" labour: 'Blue Ivy and I talked during birth'

By
Beyoncé has opened up about the "crazy" birth of her daughter Blue Ivy and slammed those who accused her of faking her pregnancy.

The 'Countdown' singer told Vogue that she felt like she was "talking" to her one-year-old child with Jay-Z during labour last January.

"I felt very maternal around eight months, and I thought I couldn't become any more until I saw the baby," said Beyoncé. "But it happened during my labour because I had a very strong connection with my child.

"I felt like when I was having contractions, I envisioned my child pushing through a very heavy door. And I imagined this tiny infant doing all the work, so I couldn't think about my own pain. We were talking. I know it sounds crazy, but I felt a communication... It was the best day of my life."

The Destiny's Child star also revealed that she "definitely" wants to expand her family in the near future.

"When I was younger, there were moments where I said, 'I'm not going to have children', and then moments when I wanted four," And now I definitely want another, but I don't know when."

Beyoncé continued: "It's very important to me that my daughter is able to experience life and run through the sprinklers.

"Have slumber parties and trust and live and do all the things that any child should be able to do."

Beyoncé went on to discuss bemusing reports that she had faked her pregnancy, asking: "Who even thinks that? Like, who would make that up... You can't take it too seriously."

The full interview with Beyoncé appears in the March issue of Vogue.
