A woman who stalks Sandra Bullock tried to run over the actress's husband.
Jesse James, a television host, discovered Marcia Valentine, who was known to stalk his wife, lying on their driveway.
When he confronted her Valentine got into her Mercedes and drove at him several times, while the couple's son, 10, watched.
Valentine was arrested the next day after again being spotted near the house and is due to appear in court next month.
Jim Amormino, spokesman for the Orange County sheriff, explained: "Valentine threw the car in reverse in Jesse James's direction.
"He attempted to move out of the way but she attempted to run him over three or four times."
Cheryl Maisel, for the couple, commented: "Both Jesse James and Sandra Bullock are fine and it is now in the hands of the authorities."
