By
N-Dubz rapper Dappy has denied claims that he broke down in tears after being handed a six-month suspended jail sentence.

The 'No Regrets' star was sentenced for his assault and affray conviction at Guildford Crown Court yesterday (February 15) over a brawl at a petrol station in February 2012.

His sentence was suspended for 18 months, although he will also have to pay £4,500 in compensation and £2,000 in costs after being found guilty of beating David Jenkins.

Reports stated that Dappy - real name Costadinos Contostavlos - cried and shouted "Yes" after the sentence was read out by the judge.

"The way they make things out to be!!!! Just cause 2 tears ran down my face that gave them the opportunity 2 say I broke down in Tears #Lies," Dappy tweeted.

Dappy was cleared of two counts of common assault on teens Grace Cochran and Serena Burton relating to the same incident.
