Katie Price speaks about Andre ordeal

Katie Price has spoken for the first time about Peter Andre's shock illness.

The glamour model, also known as Jordan, talked to OK! magazine as her husband remains battling meningitis in hospital.

She said she was spending a lot of time at his bedside but worries that she is not there all of the time because of commitments to children Junior, one, and Harvey, four.

“He’s really poorly," she explained. I feel really bad because if I was in hospital I would want someone with me all the time. But I physically can’t do it because of the kids and work.

“He’s usually sleeping, or drifting in and out. Yesterday I went in and he didn’t even know I was there. I’m checking on him all day, calling the hospital and then every night I take him a towel in so he can smell home. I am so stressed.”

She also recalled Andre's falling sick as the pair returned from a trip to the US: “The whole plane journey he was sick. We kept calling the doctor when we got home because we were so worried, then we took him to hospital."

Price also missed an appearance at Lewes Crown Court yesterday for the trial of her former nanny, Joanne Hillman, who is accused of fiddling benefits fraud. The judge adjourned proceedings until October.
