Neil Jones, 35, found out he had a half-sister when he was 17, after discovering that the man who raised him was his adoptive father.

However, he did not know that his half-sister was Tulisa Contostavlos.

A source said: "Naturally he was stunned when he realised he was related to someone whose records he had bought unknowingly.

"Neil was pretty nervous but has taken it all in his stride."

Tulisa added: "I'd like to ask everyone to respect our privacy at this time".

The N-Dubz singer is rumoured to have been axed from The X Factor as a judge for the 2013 series.
