The 31-year-old pregnant royal wore a brown Hobbs coat, previously worn at Sandringham with the Queen last Christmas, over a Great Plains dress as she was greeted by flag-waving crowds chanting 'We want Kate'.
The Duchess was taken on a tour of the Fishing Heritage Centre, with local ex-trawlerman John Vincent complimenting the Duchess and saying: "She's a great lady. She was very knowledgeable and asked some very good questions. We had a bit of a laugh going round too."
Kate, who was looking tanned from her recent holiday in Mustique and Switzerland, also met with young volunteers of the Prince's Trust at the Peak Lane Fire Head Quarters and is due to open Havelock Academy secondary school later today.
The potential future Queen revealed a hint of a baby bump last month during her visit to an addiction treatment centre in South West London for her first official engagement of the year.
