Drew Barrymore becomes UN ambassador

Drew Barrymore has been appointed UN ambassador against hunger.

The Music and Lyrics actress received the honour after filming a documentary for the international organisation.

She recently visited the UN's school feeding project in Kenya.

She said: "Filming this documentary has changed my life. It enlightened me and I started learning from the very children that we were filming about what is important in life and what the priorities should be.

"The priorities for these children are to have one meal a day and to be educated and most of these children take half their food home to their families to share it with them."
