Coldplay star splits from wife

Coldplay's Guy Berryman has split from his childhood sweetheart Joanna after three years of marriage.

The band's bassist, who celebrated the arrival of his first child with Joanna six months ago, has moved into a rented flat a few miles away from the £2 million home that he shared with his wife and daughter.

A source told The Mirror: "They are both absolutely devastated but the relationship has been on the rocks for a while. They were delighted when Joanna fell pregnant last year and hoped that a new baby might help them work things out, but at the moment it looks like it's not to be."

A Coldplay spokesman said: "I can confirm that Guy Berryman and his wife Jo have separated. The decision was amicable."
