Organisers of an Australian awards ceremony have apologised for upsetting Steve Irwin's widow Terri.
Terri, 42, burst into tears at the Australian TV Week Logie Awards last weekend when footage was aired of her speaking about Steve shortly after his death. The interview in question won the Most Outstanding Public Affairs Logie.
"It was awful. Truly, they couldn't have picked a worse clip," family friend John Stainton explained. "She was devastated when that clip was shown and the fact they [cameras] were cutting to her. She didn't know where to look or what to do. It was the first vision she'd ever seen of it."
A spokesperson for the Nine network, which broadcasts the ceremony, said: "The Logies producers are sorry if anything that took place upset her."
