Mariah Carey is to receive an award for her contribution to the Save The Music Foundation.
The programme, which attempts to use music to improve the standard of education in the US, has been helped immensely by Carey over the past ten years.
The foundation is to hold a ceremony in September, at which Carey will be honoured, to celebrate its 10th anniversary.
Other artists planning to attend the event include Jon Bon Jovi, who will perform live.
