Daniel Craig 'earns $1m for brief appearance at Range Rover event'

By
Daniel Craig reportedly earned $1 million (£650,000) for an appearance at a Range Rover event that lasted just minutes.

The James Bond star left the launch of the 2014 Range Rover Sport not long after he arrived at the New York Auto Show.

The actor's presence was part of a marketing campaign for the car, which showed a video of him driving the $70,000 (£46,000) automobile over Manhattan bridge before he appeared on the red carpet in the flesh, reports the New York Post.

He is said to have briefly posed for photographers before quickly making an exit, leaving some guests annoyed.

"He didn't even give a speech," one complained.

Another fan commented: "I couldn't even tell if he was actually here."

A spokesperson for the company said: "We won't comment on our relationship with Mr Craig beyond confirming that Land Rover supports the charity S.A.F.E., of which the actor is a patron, and will continue its charitable efforts with a vehicle donation later this year."

Earlier this month, the actor was said to have snatched a man's mobile phone from his hand when he tried to take photos of him and his wife Rachel Weisz while they were out shopping.
