Michael Douglas is said to be fully supportive of wife Catherine Zeta-Jones as she seeks treatment for bipolar II disorder.

The actress, who has been married to the Wall Street star for 12 years, entered a health facility on Monday (April 29) after previously being treated for the disorder in 2011.

"He couldn't be more supportive, just like she is of him. They're solid," a friend told People. "They're really, really devoted to each other."

The couple attended the Film Society of Lincoln Center's 40th Annual Chaplin Award Gala in New York on April 22, which honoured Barbra Streisand.

A fellow attendee said: "Catherine was on [Michael's] arm much of the time. She seemed really relaxed and happy.

"I saw her with a cocktail and she was socialising and enjoying the evening. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary and they both seemed to be having a good time."

Zeta-Jones helped Douglas recover from throat cancer after he was diagnosed with the disease in 2010.
