The 20-year-old actress spoke out about the abuse celebrities receive via her Twitter page on Sunday night (May 12).
The former Hannah Montana star begun by saying: "Everyday someone with a Swift or Gomez in there (sic) name wishes terrible things upon me (death is popular)".
Cyrus then urged her fans not to do the same as other fanbases, adding: "Please Smilers don't ever think somehow you are supporting me by being hateful towards other artists.
"My fans make me proud by supporting my music & everything I do. I'm sure these haters would make their idols much happier tweeting bout their music rather than wishing death upon their peers like psychos."
Cyrus reassured her fans that everyone in the industry is friendly with each other, before asking why fanbases can't be as well.
She later said that someone had to speak out, before making an example of a Twitter user who responded to her messages.
@rausllyr5 I said nothing about either of them .... I said some fans are acting like psychos. Example A.— Miley Ray Cyrus (@MileyCyrus) May 12, 2013
Cyrus recently topped Maxim's Hot 100 list, beating Selena Gomez, Rihanna, Mila Kunis and Jennifer Lawrence.
